DESCRIPTION | |||
Chantons en français is a range of five french language songs for learners in european schools. All of these songs have already been used successfully in UK classroom, largely with pupils 11 - 16. Some have been used with older pupils as starting points for creative writing : "Avec Elle" and "Ma Spationaute". Through the use of a variety of musical styles, the purpose is develop listening skills and to motivate pupils to listen to French. This can be done by rearranging the lyrics so that the pupils can undertake frequency count, sequencing and cloze activities. They are not intended to be used as a test of comprehension nor are they necessarily intended to be used for the pupils to sing, although pupils often do ask to sing the songs after having listened to them a few times. They can also use the tunes to set their own words to music. email: b.crow@mdx.ac.uk | |||
